warmth on the weekend

sunday: pot roast dinner, finished with iced chocolate orange cake
Did the caption make you hungry? I hope so!
Anticipating snow most of the weekend, Myk decided to cook a pot roast for Sunday dinner with mom at our place. Something about a slow cooked meal on a Sunday just seems quite appropriate. Relaxing the day away while the house fills with the pleasant aromas, knowing that it won’t be long until you scoop it up and let it fall apart in your mouth. More →
growing, expanding and learning

I have been away a bit too long, but for good reasons! My business is expanding, taking on a much larger load than normal so I decided to bring on another assistant to help out. Jessica, who I met through my client Joey M. Robinson, is going to be helping with logos, print projects and web updates. Having both her and Emily on the team will really bring about a well rounded set of skills among all of us. I can always learn from them, and they can learn from each other.
I have also signed up to have advertise at three separate events coming up in March. The Bellevue Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Forum, the Northwest Women Living and Eating Green Expo, and now the International Women’s Day: Women in Biotech and Science Conference (site coming soon). All three are very strong opportunities for my business and upcoming green women networking site. I hope to see you at any of these events!
With many new clients on board, this will be a chaotic, but fantastic time for my business. I never thought I would be doing any of this, but I am open and ready to do what it takes.
an amazing week
I am in awe.
But is it really that shocking? I mean, when you ask for things, when you really ask the entire universe for what you want the most, doesn’t it respond? It doesn’t have to respond exactly how you want it, but when you ask for the things that resonate with your own life, it responds.
I finally changed the text on my website to state that I focus on working with women businesses and like to inspire green practices within my clients. I had been scared to focus my target audience that narrowly, but really it actually brings you more business. When you try to be everything to everyone, you get chaos. Not only in your own life, but you create chaos for those involved as well. To be clear and honest with who you really want to work with is actually beneficial to all involved. You do your best work for your clients and your clients respect your work.
Amazing, yet why did I not do this earlier? More →
ringing in the new year, sick as a dog

obligatory medicine and tissues on permanent standby
So I just spent the last week and a half sick in bed. No fun! Except for a night out to our friend Eric’s house for New Year’s Eve (regretting it now), I have been in bed every other day and haven’t been able to leave the house. While my whole family smartly took Airborne the day Anna and Matt arrived to our home for Christmas, I stupidly did not. Oh am I kicking myself now! More →
new year’s eve games and magic

Even though I was starting to get sick, I went over to Eric’s house with mom and Myk and joined Rhonda, Jason, Jolene and Chris for some games. We rang in the new year watching the Space Needle fireworks on TV and drinking champagne. More →
