goodbye and hello

nicknamed “Tanjay” for the tan/gray interior by Kevin (and no, not tangay)

So we finally did it. We had been shopping online, test driving, and reading reviews for months. Normally, when I get a bee in my bonnet about buying a new car, I do it fairly quickly like within a month. But since we both had to be happy with this purchase, it took a while. And it was all worth it.

We had to say goodbye to the old cars, a Subaru Outback and Volkswagen Passat, but it was time. Two car payment for two people who never drove. Myk takes the bus to work every day and I just need to run out for meetings a few times a week. And insurance on two cars was very unnecessary.

So we decided on a Nissan. I know, I know, we were surprised too. We were thinking hybrids, hatchbacks, something small and can still haul all three dogs around. We had so many late night discussions about what would work best, and I tried to rally for the Prius so often Myk was really getting tired of it. If Nissan made a hybrid small SUV/Crossover, we would be all over it.

We ended up with a Rogue. It’s a lot like a CRV (which came in a close second, but Myk said it was a chic car) and a Rav4. All-in-all, this just suited our needs the best. Oh, we wanted a Murano, that thing was pimp! But to be realistic, we didn’t need that big of a vehicle. I think this one will suit us just fine.

And what does our critic think?

She approves!

And on a funny note (sorry so dark and shaky):

That’s Kevin for ya! Doesn’t have a care in the world about looking ridiculous. That’s why we love ‘em.
